Sushila,  resides in Sunkoudahalli  of Koratagere taluk, Tumkur. Her husband is a daily wage earner and they have a  5 year old son. Financial circumstances have been difficult for a long time and Sushila was trying hard to manage the household expenses with her husband’s meagre income.

She wished to get a job nearby her village, but could not do so because she did not have the skills to be employed.  And to take up a housekeeping job or any other such work, she had to travel long distance and this was not possible because she did not have the finances nor could she leave her child alone for long hours during the day. 

​

 She felt helpless and was eagerly looking for some solution to end her financial burden.  One of the villagers mentioned to her about the skills training program offered by BEEM. To her relief, the training was free of cost and she grabbed the opportunity. Sushila is now trained in tailoring and works in a garment factory that is close to her village. She earns well and is able to save some amount every month. The training, job, and the financial stability has changed Sushila’s life and she feels happy and grateful.
